Dear Parents,
You are able to check out books and materials from our media center. There
are some policies which we want you to be familiar with, in order that we
may have a successful year. Check out will be limited to five books or
educational materials per family. Only one accelerated reader book per
parent will be allowed due to the limited number of accelerated reader
titles in the media center. Please remember that all books are to be
treated properly: do not write in the books, tear pages, remove barcodes or
labels off books or allow them to get wet. Books that are lost or damaged
must be paid for. However, if a book is paid for, but later found, the book
will become the property of the parent and the money can not be returned.
We are no longer able to refund money if books are found due to internal
auditing policies. Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to
seeing you soon. |

http://theparentacademy.dadeschools.net/ The Parent Academy, the Miami-Dade school district's landmark venture to engage and equip parents for meaningful involvement in their children's education, will launch this month with public events throughout the county. The official Parent Academy Kickoff will occur on Saturday August 20, 2005 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in 15 locations across the county (listed below). Children's activities, celebrity readers, Parent Academy registration information, and class schedules will be available. The very first, simultaneous Parent Academy class, Preparing for a Parent/Teacher Conference, will be taught at each Kickoff location. The public is invited to attend.
